Donor Stories
Quick facts:
“I have two kids, Yuri, 2.5 years, and Ezi, 1 year. I am a 5th-grade teacher and have a passion for helping kids of all ages. In my spare time, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, keeping the house clean, and playing outside with my babies.
I’ve seen so many friends struggle with making enough milk for their babies, so when I was blessed with an oversupply of breast milk, I knew I wanted my excess to help the babies who needed it the most. After Ezi was born, I did some research online and found Tiny Treasures Milk Bank. It’s so rewarding knowing that my daughter, and so many other babies, are benefiting from my breast milk. I also love being in the Tiny Treasures donor Facebook group and having the chance to talk to so many moms who are just like me.
The most difficult aspect of my pumping journey has been maintaining a pumping schedule at work. Although my employer is required to give me a place and time to pump, they treat it like an inconvenience. Also, I pump during all my work breaks, so sometimes I feel like I don't have time to rest and just take a breath. But, at the end of the day, it is all SO worth it.
My advice to new donors: Don’t make pumping a job. Just go with the flow and stick with a schedule. Also, drink lots of water, and treat yourself to that cookie!”
