Donor Stories
Quick facts:
“My husband and I have 5 beautiful daughters: Brayvah, 11, Mayvism, 8, Vera/Rae, 5, Eleanor, 3 and Prudence, 1. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom since Eleanor was born but have always done makeup as a side gig and see myself becoming an esthetician in the next year or so. I enjoy thrifting and bargain hunting and love swimming and gardening with my girls in the summertime.
When Prudence was born, she received donor milk in the hospital, since she had trouble regulating her blood sugar due to my gestational diabetes. This sparked the idea of donating to a milk bank, as I had been an over-producer with my previous babies. I found Tiny Treasures through a Google search.
It is so rewarding to know that my milk is making a difference in the lives of tiny babies who need help and their families. Being compensated for my donations has also helped tremendously since we have a large family. I love being a stay-at-home mom but enjoy contributing financially to the family whether it’s groceries, a car payment, or doing something fun. I don’t see an end in sight for my donation journey and would love to keep pumping for another year or maybe longer. Currently, my donation goal is to perfect my packing skills and fit 600 ounces in a cooler!
My advice to new donors: If you’re having an off day, it’s ok. Feel your feels, and spoil yourself! Whether it’s every day or once a week, take a minute to do something for yourself. You deserve it!”
