For Mother’s Day this year, we invited our donors to share their stories as mothers and donors. We hope their stories and tips can make a difference for other donor moms!
"Hi, my name is Gretchen Lea Salgado, I am a mother of two and a full time nursing student. My biggest obstacle as a mother is handling the pressure and stress of school and home. You definitely need to rearrange your schedule to fit in feeding, pumping, school work, and home cleaning. But, remember to take a breather and do what you can in the time you have. Plan ahead and work with your instructors. I am most proud each and every time I pump. Every time I pump milk, I am supplying so much nutritional value for both my child and other preemies. Knowing I can make a difference in such a simple way makes me whole inside."
