Motorcycle enthusiast and mother of 2, Amanda, loves helping premature babies

Quick facts:

  • Amanda is a mother of 2
  • She loves running and riding her motorcycle
  • She has donated over 34,000 ounces during 2 donation journeys

“I am a mama to two, Ella, 6, and Elias, 2 and work as a nurse. In my spare time, I enjoy running and riding my motorcycle.

When Ella was born, I had a massive oversupply and found Tiny Treasures through an internet search. I loved that the organization's mission and values lined up with mine.

Now that my donation journey with my second baby, Elias, is nearing its end, I reflect on the thousands of ounces of liquid gold I've donated over the last several years and remember how proud I am of what I've accomplished. Donating to Tiny Treasures has given a purpose to my oversupply, and that is worth celebrating. I've donated 80 coolers containing over 34,000 ounces over the course of 2 donation journeys.

Becoming a donor was the best decision I have made, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love knowing I am helping provide the tiniest babies with the absolute best nutrition possible. Donation has also financially helped me to work part-time, pay for family vacations and fun purchases like my motorcycle, and helped fund the down payment for our home.

The time it takes to pump each day for donation has been the hardest part of my donation journey. There are no days off - even when I am tired, had a rough day, the kids are sick - I still need to pump. Thankfully I learned how to pump anywhere and everywhere to make it work.

My Advice to Other Donors: Listen to your body. Don't stop on a rough day and remember: You are a superwoman!”
