Donor Stories
What made you want to become a breastmilk donor?
I originally wanted to become a breastmilk donor due to all the excess milk I produced with my first child. I didn't want it to go to waste, so I researched breastmilk donation companies and came across Helping Hands Milk Bank. I was thrilled to be a candidate, and I was able to donate all my stored breastmilk.
Do you have experiences with a premature little one or the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)?
I delivered my baby girl at 24 weeks and got to experience preemie life in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). When you experience that firsthand, you realize the importance and desperation families have to provide breastmilk for their premature babies. It could potentially be lifesaving for them.
I am proud to have been able to donate breastmilk to this wonderful company and I pray it has helped many babies in need.
